She works in the field of adults Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery for 16 years. She has accumulated rich experience in adult Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. She also specializes in children with snoring, dysphonia and voice disorders, chronic rhinitis, laryngeal airway obstruction in children; reconstructive surgery of children with facial deformities, such as external nasal deformity, ear deformities, cleft lip and palate. She is particularly good at head and neck cancer surgery and repair.

In 1993, Dr. Li graduated from Department of Clinical Medicine of Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University School of Medicine), admitted to master's degree. She subsequently entered the Shanghai First People's Hospital, served in ENT, successively being resident physician, physician, associate chief physician and master tutor. In 2003, she was a guest lecturer in Japan, conducting special studies. She was awarded the honor of young researchers of outstanding contributions by the Japan International Otolaryngology Promotion (SPIO). In 2005, she won Sasakawa Fellowship by Ministry of Health and was officially sent to study in Japan for one year, and in that year, she was selected for outstanding young physician training program in Shanghai. She is now the director of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Master Instructor in the Shanghai Children's Hospital.
She is committed to the research in ENT discipline. Many of her projects had been funded by the city and the bureau. She has published 20 papers in the professional core journals, included four in SCI. She edited "chronic pharyngitis", "chronic rhinitis", and participated in the edition of "2005 ENT Progress", "2006 ENT Progress", "cyclooxygenase and cancer", "Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Oncology "and many other professional literature. She is also the editor of several professional journals. She is now the Shanghai Jing'an District People's Congress; Pediatric group members of Professional Committee of Otolaryngology in Chinese Medical Association; the member of Children Otolaryngology Committee in Pediatric branch of the Chinese Medical Association.
